Are you on a Pi3 running the latest Raspbian Stretch ? Did you get glxgears running at 60fps ? Any more detail in the log?

Well, this is a conundrum.

I have a 2B Model Pi (Raspberry Pi 3), I've installed 1.12.2 for both Minecraft and OptiFine - I've updated the LWJGL to the latest stable build, and I keep getting two different errors.

When I do NOT use OptiFine:

Code: Select all

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisifiedLinkError: (home directory)/.minecraft/versions/1.12.2/1.12.2-(natives folder)/liblwjgl.so [...]
Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (Possible cause: can't load IA 32-bit .so on an ARM-bit platform)
When I do use OptiFine:

Code: Select all

[main/ERROR]: Unable to launch
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: null
What do I do now?

Are you using runOptifine1_12_2.sh that I provided on page 4 of this thread ? If so are you using OptiFine-1.12.2_HD_U_C5.jar ?

I've retested this on a fresh sd card and all worked fine. I'm assuming your using Raspbian Stretch and logged in as user 'pi' ?

What does the following return :

Code: Select all

ls ~/.minecraft/libraries/optifine/OptiFine/

I can only think that you have missed a step.

Hi - great resource! Thanks!

My 6 year old wants minecraft from Santa so I was going to set this up. I was wondering what controller I should get? We have no console in the house so she is not used to anything in particular. If there was something minecraft themed then all the better! Ho ho ho!

I've only ever used keyboard and mouse for Minecraft on a PC or Pi. Maybe someone else reading this thread has tried other controllers.

Don't forget this is pushing the Pi to its limits - so can crash occasionally.

Thats right. Have you looked at the video tutorial to see if you missed something ?

It seems that I've followed all the steps...

Although, the gears application only brings back from 40-45 FPS, but that has nothing to do with any library problems, I assume?

Also, would I have to download an earlier version of LWJGL? I installed the latest stable version.

That could be the problem, I've not updated LWJGL on my Pi3.

glxgears should run at close to 60fps if OpenGL is working.
