Android?

Is it possible to install Android on the Pi or is that a no go?
Please use the search feature to find the many other threads that have discussed Android on the Raspberry Pi.
My understanding is that there are porting efforts for earlier versions of Android, but the newer builds such as Ice Cream Sandwich will be too demanding for the Pi.
