Anyone got a 4.0+ image?

Mon Feb 25, 2013 7:41 pm

Hey Guys!

So I want to put android ICS on my raspberry pi and I want to avoid Gingerbread as I dont much like the look in comparison to Gingerbread. Thing is I cant find a .img of it. There is that old video of it running ICS on youtube but I havent been able to find a link to a finished version yet. I read comments on youtube from people who have done it. Any links would be much appreciated.

Not out yet, under development, methinks.

You're not the only one who REALLY wants it!

I really want it. I heard it's unusable, but I would like to try it out for myself.

The scroll pocket (android 4.0) has 1ghz power, 512 ram, the Pi almost has enough, should run ok. :D

Android 4.0 requires HW graphics acceleration to run at a usable speed. I presume the Scrollpocket uses HW acceleration. The Raspi version of Android does not yet do so so will run very very slowly.

Please do update if anyone has been able to get 4.o working smooth. Looks like old versions of android is running decent. Ive read some still get chippy while running. Would really be interested in ics, on the pi.

I wouldn't hold your breath Broadcom are not doing any work on Android for Pi so they'll never be any hardware drivers.
Given the slow and old processing core ARMv6 @ 700MHz Android would still crawl like a baby even if it did have drivers.
