Yep Android brings absolutely ZERO to the RPi, the resources would be better spent by developers on other Linux based Distros...
Rather than negativity think outside the box !
RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot)..
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...

I'd say the work is better spent on optimising the distro's and apps we already have - and that is, indeed, where the development money is being spent. Quite a lot of it. Wayland/Weston, Scratch, V4L (at first, taken over by Broadcom) etc. All funded by the Foundation.
