Audio

Tue Feb 25, 2014 11:27 pm

Hi all

I am trying to establish how to output audio from the RasPi.

I suspect it is a DAC with a FIFO, but I cannot find any mention of such a subsystem in the documentation I have. :-(

Is this a publicly undocumented GPU operation?

Cheers

There's a chapter on PCM/IIS Audio and one on PWM in the Broadcom SOC doc.

Hi partis,

I did loads of minimal sound demos on the Raspberry Pi,
You can check them all out here: http://github.com/PeterLemon/RaspberryP ... /Sound/PWM

ASM source & compiled binary demos included =D
Instructions for howto compile & run the source is on my github front page: http://github.com/PeterLemon/RaspberryPi/

I have given examples of mono & stereo sound samples,
Playing back at various standard frequencies,
Using different bitrates,
Thru the headphone port,
With either the CPU or DMA feeding in the fifo data.

Hope this helps you out =D
