I've used this Debian image as a starting point[*] and i've noticed that the kernel / dtb that came with this image is significantly larger than the one produced by zeldin's tree.
Moreover, substituting the armstubs / u-boot that came in this Debian image with one produced by upstream trees, doesn't work either, since i get a solid hang on boot before the serial has any chance to spit out any character.
I guess some investigation is needed.
