PL011 uart problems

Wed Nov 15, 2017 12:13 am

I have troubles run some baremetal os samples, like xinu, on a PI B. I found that all have in common is using the UART(0x2020100), and not the mini uart (0x20215000).

Im using a recent the raspberry boot files of a recent debian distro, except the kernel.img. It is required to put anything in a config.txt to access the uart?

not sure what your question really is. If you want to use either of the uarts you have to set the function for the gpio pin to that peripheral to see anything come out (or in) and then of course program that peripheral to handle that task. What is the real problem you are having?
