Kernel panic with SLOB allocator

Wed Aug 01, 2012 9:30 pm

The kernel panics before calling init. Got the sources from the official Raspberry Pi tree on github (cloned 2012-07-29), and started with the default config. The only modification is choosing SLOB.
This is my environment:
* Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10GHz, 4GB RAM DDR3.
* Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-27-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 6 14:25:57 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
* Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop amd64
* Gentoo Linux chroot, from stage3-amd64-20120621. portage/metadata/timestamp.chk: Sun, 29 Jul 2012 09:30:01.
* cross compiling tools on the Gentoo chroot using "crossdev -S -v -t armv6j-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi"

Basically, I set the Gentoo crossdev environment according to the Gentoo pages:
* http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi
* http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/embedded/handbook/

When crashing, the kernel spits a dump and the last line I see is:

Code: Select all

Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt
I'll try to do some research, but got nothing in the last few days.

Return to “Linux Kernel”
