As far as I've found out a few TV's can do 30Hz and virtually no monitors:-(
Can it do 1920x1080@60Hz

What information is available about the SoC itself is at least clear on these issues:

1080p30 is the quoted limit for H.264 video decoding, whereas 1080p60 is supported for the HDMI output.

The gigapixel/s figure quoted is the fill rate. This needs to be comfortably higher than the output clock rate for 2D work, and considerably higher for 3D.

Of course, the RaspberryPi team will likely not be able to make all of the capabilities of the SoC available. But I suspect no reason that 60Hz monitor output should be a problem.

Yes, pretty sure it works with 60Hz - tried on my Dell monitor here via DVI, and also on my Samsung Telly at home with HDMI, and an LG monitor at home with HDMI.

The 30 in 1080p30 means 30 progressive frames per second. Not 30Hz

The 30 in 1080p30 means 30 progressive frames per second. Not 30Hz
30 progressive frame per second is 30 full image every second so it is 30Hz.

technically I have 3 1920x1200 monitors. 2 have hdmi ports and one (older one) has dvi. they all display at native rez.
I plan on driving one of these monitors with the rpi for testing, although i also have several 1680x1050 monitors as well.

Thanks! I'll have to try it. It's surprising that WQHD isn't a supported resolution.

As it's still the same GPU as on all previous versions of the Pi, probably not, but I don't know.

If the maximum pixel clock rate achievable is related to GPU clock speed then I guess it may have as that's been increased on the Pi3B, but it's been happy to run overclocked at 500MHz since the Pi2B first arrived, so the same may apply to a tweaked Pi2B also.

I'm out of my depth on this one, so your guess is probably as good as mine.
