Has anyone run into problems using textures > 1024x1024?

Haven't tried myself (yet)... Dom says here
Texture size max is 2Kx2K.

Yes even the RPi itself returns a value of 2048 using glGet.. but khronos say that's an ' a rough estimate' so thought it worth asking if anyone had managed to use a bigger texture without problems.
