Did you turn it on, and reset gpu mem, and download the utilities?

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install mesa-utils
Then;

Advanced options/GL Driver/Enable

Code: Select all

sudo rasp-config
Finally after reboot, gpu mem will be 64, set it to something like 128 - 190 ( don't go any higher than 192 is my suggestion, or you may not boot):
menu/preferences/raspberry pi configuration/performance

Then reboot

Done.

it still shows the samething. Any Ideas? I did managed to get rid of the black borders when the gpu driver is off by disabling the overscan from the menu.

I have the exact same problem!!! For my setup I have tried a external monitor in which case I get your results and I have tried the Raspberry Pi Display. With the Raspberry Pi Display I get a bunch of wavy lines. I have installed/updated mesa and enabled the OpenGL driver plus added RAM to the video. Any other ideas?

It's not guaranteed to work for everyone which is why it is still in alpha. To use it you need a new monitor. Also, it currently doesn't support the Pi Display
There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't.

I fixed it by replacing all the files that are in the boot partition with new and un-updated ones from another installation, of a ''spare'' SD card(same OS; raspbian)

From the ''spare'' SD which has the 'untouched' raspbian installation, copy all the boot files including the overlay folder from the boot partition and paste them into the SD you want to use that GL driver which renders the squary screens such as the one I posted.

then problem solved!

Thanks for helping me, the help was great after all.
