I was asking Eben and Dom as they will probably already have an idea what customers may want, and when. Non-answers from elsewhere are neither desired nor required. As my chemistry prof liked to say, "If you're not part of the solution, your're just part of the precipitate."
I'd be a little more polite IIWY, since I actually work at Broadcom, and therefore there is a vague change I might know what I'm talking about. And I did indeed answer your question - "If it gets done for the Videocore 4, then there is no technical reason the Raspi won't have them.". The answer to IF for the Videocore is still up in the air, but I will try and find out more. Whether I then post what I find out is debatable, might keep it to myself. Just for fun.
And the phrase "If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem" is complete and utter nonsense, invented by morons (since it so blatantly untrue), as by sheer coincidence we were discussing over the partition only yesterday. Although we did phrase it slightly differently.

I've been saying "Mucho" to my Spanish friend a lot more lately. It means a lot to him.
