You more than likely aren't providing the correct path to the headers, you've got

Are you sure you have that directory in the root dir? Because that is a wierd place to have it if you have.

no, it is in /home/pi/gtkiostream-1.5.0
so must it be then

Yes, now it works finally ! :D
thank you very much for your help, I really was just about to give up and completely drop all my attempts with this library - now I can eventually try and see if it will work for my purposes! 8-)
