Serial terminal

Sun Sep 21, 2014 8:22 am

I have started to play with a GSM sim908 module and would like a serial terminal to send serial commands to the module. Could anyone recommend a serial terminal for RPi raspbian?

"screen" can be used as a simple serial terminal and it can be very useful to have installed anyway :)

If you want a GUI terminal program:
sudo apt-get install cutecom
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

PuTTy can also do serial

Code: Select all

apt-get update
apt-get install putty
Same GUI as on Windows.
