installing dnsmasq - missing LSB tags and overrides

Sun Jan 05, 2014 4:23 am

Attempted to install bind9, now dnsmasq - both packages reporting these errors.

insserv: warning: script 'K01vnc' missing LSB tags and overrides
insserv: warning: script 'vnc' missing LSB tags and overrides
insserv: warning: script 'mathkernel' missing LSB tags and overrides

Raspbian was installed via NOOBS_v1_3_3
Kernal: 3.10 2013-12-20-wheezy-raspbian.zip

Any thoughts?

Steve

Take a look at /etc/init.d/skeleton

It has a sample of the "LSB tags" that need to go in /etc/init.d/xxxxx scripts that you create.

The mathkernel one is from wolfram-alpha you can either edit it or apt-get remove wolfram* .

The messages are only warnings that something is not as it should be. Things should still work though.

I still get occasional warnings like this on my Debian laptop. It doesn't cause any problems.
