Photo Printer

Tue Nov 19, 2013 12:25 pm

Hi,

I am working on a project with an RPi that involves a photo printer. I was wondering what photo printers work with the RPi. I am hoping to do this with a direct line via USB cable. Also, how do I go about setting up this printer?

Thanks,

Zach

Personally I have had good compatibility with a HP Deskjet 3050 ePrinter using the HPLIP Software from the Raspbian Wheezy Repositories:

Thanks. Have you done anything with Canon printers, specifically the SELPHY series? This project is a group effort and everyone else is leaning towards a SELPHY, however I'm good with using an HP. I could probably talk them into it, but I was just wondering.

Thanks.

Open Printing have a list of printers working with Linux x86-32 and x86-64 Intel Architecture, if the printer is not on list forget it.

If it is on list you will need to find if it is feasible to compile the drivers for the Pi's ARMv6 Architecture.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be able to answer the question !
