gpg key during update...

Whilst running an update on a couple of my Raspberry Pis on Raspbian, I noticed the following sequence in the update output...

Code: Select all

Preparing to replace apt 0.9.7.6+rpi1 (using .../apt_0.9.7.7+rpi1_armhf.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement apt ...
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up apt (0.9.7.7+rpi1) ...
gpg: key 90FDDD2E: "Mike Thompson (Raspberry Pi Debian armhf ARMv6+VFP) <mpthompson@gmail.com>" not changed
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: unchanged: 1
Warning: removed keys keyring /usr/share/keyrings/raspbian-archive-removed-keys.gpg missing or not readable
Is the inclusion of MPThompsons email and GPG keys correct, or is something wrong here?

This post needs an answer. The files in /usr/share/keyrings/ are prefaced with 'ubuntu' vs 'raspbian' which is why they aren't found. Should these files be renamed with the 'raspbian' prefix?

Was there ever an answer to this? I'm seeing the same issue.

Yes the key we use for signing the repository has mike thompsons name on it. Mike using his personal key as the repository signing key probablly wasn't the worlds brightest descision but it's a tricky one to change.

I am getting this error is there any way to fix this or does it not matter that the gpg key is wrong and why when i have done several updates has only happened this time . If it is an important error why has nothing been done about since it was first reported ?.

sudo touch /usr/share/keyrings/raspbian-archive-removed-keys.gpg
apt-get update
