I'm currently working on a project with Raspbian Stretch and I'm planning to switch to Raspian Buster.
To reduce filesystem corruption I'm using a read-only filesystem with some exception for instance when I need to modify my internet connection exploiting the nmcli stuff. In this case, firstly I remount the root partition with write permission at run time and then at the end of modification and remount it with read-only permission.
I see that Buster provides a built-in overlay to change the filesystem in read-only mode. In case I decide to switch to Raspbian Buster and use this overlay how can I modify my internet connection profile? Do I have to manually unlock and the lock again after my operations or is there any way to save my new connection profile without doing anything?
