temp_freq_cpus tool

Since the Pi4B feels hot I wanted to be able to get a better monitoring of all relevant parameters.
I created temp_freq_cpus tool for that:

It uses VT100 clear screen escape sequence to always update the information in first 9 lines of screen:

Best it is used together with "tee" command to get live display and log file stored.

It turned out that logging memory and swap data is useful as well. I added temp_freq_cpus_free tool for that:

Besides new memory and swap statistic tools, all statistic tools now have a raw mode without distribution analysis:

Running make  could take anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on your Raspberry Pi hardware (this tutorial is compatible with the Raspberry Pi 3B, 3B+, and 4). The Raspberry Pi 4 is the fastest at the time of this writing.

I did the logging, this time with 59.99s delay between entries in order to get a log entry every minute.
The whole compilation took 46:18min only on my 4GB Pi4B!

CPU frequency was 1.5GHz the whole time of compilation:

Reduction in number of data lines from 48 to 20 as well as scaling (0-1500000000 to 0-15) was done utilizing awk:

Free memory dropped from 2627MiB to 72Mib, and in addition 6MiB of 1024MiB swap space got used.

Temperature was around 80°C most of the time (I have no fans, but board had air from both sides):

I am quite happy with all that, compile time less 47min, temperature of 81°C max did not throttle arm frequency, ...

P.S:
Next steps are to evaluate OpenCV.
It can do blob detection or connected components for airplane in sky detection.
Question is whether the algorithms allow for <25ms processing time for 1920x1080, and <7ms for 640x480.
Only that will allow to process each and every frame at 40fps/150fps.
"Hello OpenCV" example was compiled on Pi4B without issues, below you can see it with ssh X11 forwarding:
