Wed Sep 18, 2019 1:03 pm

Hey guys, my first post on this forum.

Does anyone know when will the raspberry Pi 4 be able to play 4k 10bit HEVC content?

libreElec will do that already I believe.

Currently no direct kernel support in standard Raspbian.

Do you have any idea when this will be ready?

Kodi 19 should use ffmpeg+v4l2, until then, you can use popcornmix's leia_pi4 branch which patches ffmpeg and kodi to use MMAL which can decode HEVC. LibreLE uses this branch as does Arch ARM.

Yep, the same as above as explained at the end of the first post.
