Where is the boot log?

Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:42 pm

Where will I find the boot log in Raspbian, or if there isn't one how do I set one up to log all that information that flies past during bootup? I want to see what stuff is being loaded and what hardware is recognised.

Thanks

Use the command

dmesg

or

dmesg >log

and then use an editor to look at log.

Is it possible to see the logs of a previous boot?

I don't know why but, some times, the raspberry hangs during the boot process. I would like to read the previous boot logs in order to find what's happened

Merci
(thanks)

Install bootlogd:

apt-get install bootlogd

The log will be in /var/log/
