Drivers for 7 inch waveshare touc screen?

Wed Aug 29, 2018 2:35 pm

Hello there,
I have just downloaded the latest rasbian. Turned it on and updated. Connected this creen:

https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/7inch_HDMI_LCD_(B)

After applying this to config.txt the screen resolution is correct:

Code: Select all

max_usb_current=1
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt 800 480 60 6 0 0 0
hdmi_drive=1
The problem is that the touch doesnt work at all. The screen is visible:

Code: Select all

Tested using official image: 2015-05-05-raspbian-wheezy.img

The link is 2 generations of Raspbian out of date.

Stupid question but did you plug in the USB Cable required for Touch ??

Must be; the device is visible:

Code: Select all

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0eef:0005 D-WAV Scientific Co., Ltd
That's basically an eGalax panel.
I have not checked it, but I'm pretty sure this device is supported by default in Raspbian.

Thabks for answers. The touch should work, as it was working on the previous rpi image on an sd card I found (not sure what version, some old one). Now I installed fresh one and there is bo touch :/.

Normally you would have to configure / calibrate the panel. Have you done that?

I did not, since the touch doesnt work at all, I thought there is no need for that. Am I wrong?
