[solved] Failed to mount NFS Partition at boot

Thu Apr 26, 2018 6:53 pm

Hello,

my Desktop (RPi3) has problems to mount my NFS Partition from my File-Server(RPi2). It works over one year perfect but now after the installation of a new Router or last update I have this problem.

After Login in my Desktop(LXDE)and open the LXTerminal and mount the NFS Partition with

Code: Select all

sudo mount -a
and all is good and with no problem. But why it is not working at boot?

All my RPi's have the newes Updates from Raspbian Stretch.

Here is the Error Message:
Apr 25 18:58:27 iglu systemd[1]: media-DataNFS.mount: Mount process exited, code=exited status=32
Apr 25 18:58:27 iglu systemd[1]: Failed to mount /media/DataNFS.

Edit - after the installation of a new Router

If you are using something like sda1 in the fstab New kernel prefers that you use UUID that you can find with the blkid command.

Like this: UUID=4C4CF5224CF5078A /mnt/pihdd ntfs defaults,auto,umask=000,users,rw 0 0

not this: dev/sda /mnt/pihdd ntfs default ...........etc.

The sda sdb etc can change with no notice or reason, the UUID doesn't.

Just my guess.

Hello donbrew,

thx for you answer :)

Think it is not the problem because it is a Network File System here the blkid command shows only the local partitions. And on my NFS-Server the partions are all right mounted.

In my opinion it is something with the network.

Does the NFS mount work if performed manually ?

Ok, what do you have in /etc/fstab ?

I use lines like this to automount directories from my NFS server as they are required.

Code: Select all

192.168.1.21:/MINT-17/opt/RPI /opt/RPI nfs vers=4,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr,noauto,x-systemd.automount 0 0

My /etc/fstab:

Code: Select all

deflu:/media/DataB/Data /media/DataNFS nfs4 rw,nosuid 0 0
deflu:/media/DataB/NFSFreigabe	/home/tux/NFSFreigabe nfs4 rw,nosuid 0 0

Have saved your automount line. It can be also good for me. :)

You might want to try enabling Wait for Network in raspi-config.
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?
