how do i force close a program when it crash's in full screen

i have had a few games now crash in full screen i want to know how to close them

please help me with this problem

What kind of games ?
Only sure way I can think of is, log in with SSH from another computer and kill the process.

There are normally virtual screens available in Linux, so try 'ctrl+alt+F2' to goto one of them, use 'ps' (man ps) to find the PID number, then run 'kill -9 pidno' (the process number you found with 'ps', as the root user.

Else, 'ctrl+alt+backspace' should kill the GUI, then restart it using 'startx'.

yeah i know you can press the alt crtl and f2 to bring up the terminal and f7 or 8 to get back to the GUI

i like linux :D

learning it got a book :lol:
