2nd keyboard language gets reset on reboot help

Tue Oct 17, 2017 9:49 am

Hello everyone! I am trying to use en-US as my default keyboard language but have as second the el-GR keyboard layout and swap them with left ALT + left SHIFT. I did accomplish that using the Keyboard and Mouse menu in raspbian but every time i reboot it resets and it uses the default raspbian language. I guess the problem is that raspi-config can use only one keyboard language.

1) Open Terminal and wrote :

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/default/keyboard

2) In the next screen change the following:

XKBMODEL="pc105"

XKBLAYOUT="us,gr"

XKBVARIANT=","

XKBOPTIONS="grp:alt_shift_toggle,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp,grp_led:scroll"

BACKSPACE="guess"

3) Save the changes :

a}Ctrl+O
b)Press enter
c)Ctrl+X

4) Reboot

Thanks for the reply. I did configure /etc/default/keyboard and did a restart but the keyboard layout is the same, nothing changed just the file.

Open keyborad layout handler settings( right click on the flag) and check the option ''Keep system layouts'', it must be enable .

if it is not, enable and reboot .

After that check again the file we changed before if everything is ok

This option was always enabled.

Return to “Raspbian”
