Hi, does anyone know where I can find the source code for raspbian's tweaked version of chromium-browser? Thanks

Interesting question. i don't know! I had a quick look through the couple of Pi githubs, but didn't find it.

You might have better luck.

Thanks I couldn't find anything there. I've also looked here https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/ ... m-browser/

I looked though the github repos too and couldn't find it. I think the package in question is rpi-chromium-mods which is listed as maintained by Simon Long, perhaps you could ask him James?

It looks like the source is available in the repo https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/ ... mium-mods/

I'll have a look at that package thanks. I'm trying to track down why chromium just shows an "aw, snap" message in Ubuntu. It seems to work alright if I start with --no-sandbox. Just wondered what raspbian was doing.

rpi-chromium-mods seems to be just the flash plugin. It does have CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--disable-quic --enable-fast-unload --enable-tcp-fast-open --disable-gpu-compositing --ppapi-flash-version=26.0.0.151", but using that in Ubuntu doesn't solve the "Aw, Snap".

Thanks for the quick response on this. I'll have to study that patch. I see there is quite a bit of sandbox stuff there so maybe it is a bit more involved than I had hoped! Cheers

Just an aside:
CHROMIUM_FLAGS= ........ --disable-gpu-compositing
I guess this is why chromium is slow under vc4 on raspbian? Or does the patch have an effect too? On Ubuntu under vc4 chromium page scrolling is much faster than raspbian.

On the linked website there I find
"Patches to apply to vanilla Chromium browser source to enable hardware acceleration"

But, where can I find vanilla Chromium Browser Source Code for Raspberry Pi 3 (armv7l) ?

We don't store that, you need to check with the chromium website.

Raw Chromium code is here: https://www.chromium.org/developers/how ... t-the-code

I don't know if that includes building for Raspberry Pi. Note that you would still typically build for Raspberry Pi on Windows, Mac, or Linux (i.e. cross-compile).

Hi guys,

I'm probably mixing two different threads here but to make this work, even for Netflix, is it enough with patching chromuim and building it? or do I need to do more magic adding widevine somehow?
