Stability over Testing, you are free to install the latter

Newer Mesa could change things, but AFAIK Mesa is still in old 13.x version. There is always option to use latest 17.1.x version, but who knows how it works with Raspberry Pi.

Finally a new 4.9 download, 4.4 was April?
Give me new updated OS to play with this weekend.

I think Eric is pushing more Pi stuff into 4.11, 4.12
So we might see 4.11 soonish, this year

Maybe in ten years you will have grown up enough to show some gratitude !

Kernel 4.9.xx has been available for a month via update/dist-upgrade as were many other updated packages..

The last major update was Pixel Desktop a year ago.....

I know, been doing that for months, sometimes works, sometimes does not, SDcards are getting old?
But when commissioning some new Pi's it is a pain to do that.
