Geany Issues

Tue Nov 29, 2016 4:11 pm

I'm just getting started with Python and have settled on Geany for an IDE. While I was checking off boxs for different plugins to use, I see GeanyPy, so I checked it. Bang. Geany completely vanishes. As if I had clicked exit. So, I uncheck everything in the plugins dialog, click OK, go back into the plugins dialog, and click GeanyPy as the only selection, and Bang! Gone.
So, I check the version, and see its 1.24, while the latest version is over a year newer at 1.29.

So, 2 questions.
1) Why is the GeanyPy plugin causing Geany to terminate.
2) Is Geany going to be updated soon or should I take on updating it myself?

Thanks
Keith

Geany has only just been added to Raspian within the past few months, it'll be the usual debian system following excuse.

But I have no idea when anything will happen.
I would go for updating it yourself if you need that plugin (what does it add?).
I just run it as normal for python use.

As for why, I would have a look or ask on github https://github.com/geany/geany-plugins/issues

Return to “Raspbian”
