Yikes, NOOBS Lite 1.9 broken (no keyboard/mouse on RPi3)

Wed Jun 01, 2016 11:10 pm

If I build an SD card using NOOBS Lite 1.9 and select Raspian, the resulting image works just fine, sees the USB keyboard and mouse on boot (at the SHIFT to rebuild screen), but doesn't work on the desktop. Strangely, the devices are shown in lsusb, but they don't work.

If I build the same SD card using NOOBS 1.9.2 and select Raspian, everything works fine.

There goes 4 hours of my life I'll never see again... 8*|

Yes, me to. frustrating that the setup allows use of mouse and keyboard. Note that transferring the SDCard to a Pi 2 has the same result. I 'cloned' a working version, which runs fine on the PI 3. I haven't tried version 1.92. (yet)
I suppose it's too early for any explanation?

Haven't been able to reproduce the issue. Works okay for me.

Could one of you ssh into the non-working system and provide the output of 'sudo journalctl'?

OK, I built another one this morning, same type card on RPi3, same NOOBS 1.9 Lite

I did notice that even though the network link lights were on, the NOOBS installed complained that there was no network access. I told it to ignore the WiFi and it installed using the Ethernet.

And of course, today it works fine. Did anything change in the distribution that NOOBS Lite downloads between Wednesday and today?

I can't think of anything that may have changed.
