reboot failure

Tue May 03, 2016 4:30 pm

After I successfully enter the GUI, if I reboot, I am stuck with a blinking cursor in upper left and no more GUI.

What gives?

Is your SDCard (aka root filesystem) full?

No, it's a 16GB card, so plenty of space.

As further info, since I am installing the Tontec 3.5" LCD, I am updating libraries and then upgrading, as per their instructions.
It is after this upgrade that it will not boot into the GUI any longer.

How did you install the OS? If not NOOBS, did you expand the file system in
sudo raspi-config

Is the image you're installing older than the Raspberry Pi you're attempting to install it on. Does it need a firmware/kernel upgrade?

I have the same exact problem, did someone find a solution? I have a 32GB card, there is not a space problem...
