sound configuration, command line mp3 player

Thu Aug 16, 2012 5:32 am

For me sound on raspbian was/is not so easy to get running...
but ok, ´aplay /path/to/some/something.wav´ does play something on analog audio out now :)
It plays in mono, btw. Why?

Now i´m looking for a command line mp3 [ogg, ...] player that works on raspbian.
i.e. a test with mp3blaster:
´mp3blaster /path/to/some/sound.mp3´ does not play sound, but barks:
"Failed to open sound device."
I saw similar results with other sound programs so i guess it´s the sound configuration?
