I know it's still only in experimental, but if possible could we get a pypy build for Raspbian?

Maybe too hard, given the nature of the project, but it is in armel so maybe it's possible?

hmm, looking at the source package in experimental it refuses to build if the machine has less than a gig and a half of ram.

If you want to try and build the package for raspbian I would suggest using a qemu-user setup.

There are instructions for a scratchbox based build somewhere (possibly in the pypy blog in an ARM announce?). I thought the PyPy ARM JIT was armv7+ though? I certainly would like to have it available if possible though. Based on compiling pypy on x86, it can use up to 4gb of ram during the build though.

A reply to an old thread...

PyPy's JIT (just in time compiler) does work on ARM v7 processors but not yet on the v6 that is used in our Raspberries. Some work to improve this situation has been started by PyPy developers. A timeframe is not yet available...
