Network Manager GUI or OpenVPN front end?

I would like to run OpenVPN on my Raspbian "Wheezy" build.

I cannot seem to find a GUI interface I can use to easily install my certificate and import my .ovpn files.
There is no network-manager link available in LXDE as far as I could see.

I installed:
network-manager
network-manager-openvpn

I tried to run
/etc/init.d/network-manager start

But it is already running.

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Hi,

you can install network-manager-gnome. Afterward the GUI can be started using the command "nm-applet".

Kind regards,
Christian

I suggest to use Wicd

aptitude install wicd wicd-gtk wicd-curses

Here's an article in German we published just now:

It has some screenshots, so you'll get the idea probably.

(Note: the gnome network manager suggested in this post did not work for me, so I searched and found wicd)

Hi Every one,

I have managed to set-up an OpenVPN server using one of my RasPi's.

I am using windoze to connect to my Server, using .OVBN file which I have copied from the RasPi Server, I nevertheless have a question for you, how can I make my other Raspberry Pi to connect as Client to this server, please advise, I have been trying many things but non of them is working.

I would appreciate if you would help.

Many thanks in advance.

Siamak

Even though I never tried it on my Pi, QuantumGuard probably does the job. https://www.nt-shield.com/downloads/quantumguard

Open-Source, cross-platform, quantum resistant cryptography.

Let me know if it worked on your pi.
