Touch drivers for the eGalax USB touch screens, i know UBUNTU has some of those, and those on the eeti webpage work only for HID enabled devices (on the ARM arch), i have a touch screen that's not HID compliant and i can't get any drivers to work.

How about phpliteadmin instead?

This isn't a package request, instead it's a kernel module request (doesn't seem to be a kernel module request thread).

Someone has already asked for usbip userspace packages (and they are there now, although may have been all along), however there doesn't appear to be the usbip kernel modules included with the raspbian kernels, which makes the userspace tools kind of useless :)

Can we get the usbip kernel modules included too?

Thanks

Thanks for all your hard work.

I have a request for something that is more RPi focused (it's not in the official wheezy repos, though I think it's in the experimental repos). That is ROS (the Robot Operating System). With this program the RPi can be fully realised as a robotics platform. :geek:

There have been some advances made on the forums:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =37&t=6552

But so far it's a very messy business, with things missing. I thought you might have more luck getting it to work - if not, then can we add it once it's all worked out. ie the fuerte version on raspbian, or failing that, the electric build.

The ros.org is down at the moment, otherwise I'd post some more info. I'll try again later and add that info too, so you're not searching too hard.

Thanks!

PS - just found:
http://www.ros.org/wiki/ROSberryPi/Sett ... aspberryPi

So I should be able to get it up and running when my RPi arrives. But I really do think it should be part of the repos.

Sorry for the double post but, in the same vein, I think the Julius speech recognition software should be in the repos. Who doesn't want a voice controlled Raspberry Pi, right?

http://www.aonsquared.co.uk/raspi_voice_control

In the "Installing Julius" section (about 1/4 of the way down the page) is the info on compiling Julius from the CVS source, and the compiler flags that are needed to compile it for Raspbian. Cheers!

Thanks for the help, fixed package uploaded.

Could we please have paml?

There would be at least eight users of this package, that I know of. Which suggests there should be plenty more out there too.

Thank you for all the work,

I am not sure this is the right place to request this. I would like you to update the directvnc package from version 1.7 to 1.8 to fix a fatal bug.

It gives the error "Couldn't parse the keyboard mapping file (null)" described here http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=668021 . As it says, it has been fixed in the next version which isn't in Raspian yet.

I found the github and tried to recompile it myself, but failed due mostly to not having the slightest idea what I was doing.

Here is the github. https://github.com/drinkmilk/directvnc

This is a vnc client that is supposedly very light and runs without x.

And isn't in debian yet either.

I've followed up to the bug report.

This seems to be the same bug with more information and a patch. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=677204

I would like to see a lightweight VOIP/sip client package available in Raspbian, such as Twinkle.

Ekiga is available, but it is pretty heavy, sort of like using an elephant gun to hunt a mouse.

Thanks

Twinkle was removed from debian due to depending on old libraries.

Because there was no raspbian release before wheezy i've decided to generally keep arround stuff that is in debian squeeze but is no longer in debian wheezy but be aware such packages are unlikely to get much if anything in the way of security support. having said that twinkle didn't seem to receive any security updates since squeeze release already, I dunno if this means noone found any flaws or that noone could be bothered patching them.

As such i've decided that assuming I can get it to build i'll put twinkle into raspbian. I'd be wary of using it to connect to untrusted stuff though.

When I do an "apt-get install twinkle" I get "E. Unable to locate package Twinkle", and when I do a Synaptic search for "VOIP" it is not listed.

Is there a waiting period of some sort before a newly-built package is downloadable?

Saying that, xmcd is only in squeeze and sid (not sure why its not in wheezy).

Getting the squeeze source and compiling on the pi seemed to work fine, however.

It failed to build with an internal compiler error, i'll try and find a workaround (from past experiance building with 4.7 usually works).
