Shift doesnt work

Fri Apr 03, 2015 12:05 am

I am using the Pi2. I have NOOBS installed, but I see their isn't much included. I want to install a other version such as one of the media center version. Durring boot, I tried holding the shift button down to get back to the boot or recovery screen, but it doesn't do anything. just ends up going to the login prompt. What am I doing wrong?
I don't have a micro sd adapter yet.

Try toggling one or other of the 'Shift' keys rather than just holding? What model/type of keyboard are you using? (NOOBS can be slow to detect some wireless keyboards, thus reducing the "window of opportunity" for 'Shift' key detection.)
It's also possible to force recovery mode:
https://github.com/raspberrypi/noobs#ho ... oard-input
(but you'll probably need a uSDHC to SDHC adapter or uSDHC compatible USB card reader/writer)
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

Return to “Raspberry Pi OS”
