DietPI not booting to desktop

Sat Mar 14, 2015 4:26 am

Hi everyone,

I hope it's ok for me to post this here (DietPi is based on Raspbian).

When installing I selected the option to boot directly to the desktop. However, when it boots it just goes to this screen:

But I can't type anything in the command line. If I use ctrl+alt+f1 it does go to the Xorg server screen, however that doesn't seem to respond to commands either?

Anyone know what's going on? I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to Pis and Linux. :?

NVM, I grabbed a larger SD card and installed Raspbian, problem solved.

(I think maybe the 1GB one I was using was too small to load the GUI of DietPI? )

Currently running BOINC 24/7, slow and steady wins the race. 8-)

Hi LolCatVII,

Whilst DietPi is based on Rasbian, the DietPi project is not currently endorsed or supported by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Please post all DietPi related posts to :http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewt ... 6&start=50

Regarding the issue of not booting. You were spot on. DietPi with desktop (LXDE) and the default 100mb swapfile uses 1.2gb of space. I will have this resolved in a future build and i'am grateful for your feedback.

Regards
Dan
