Downclock

Wed Jul 04, 2012 4:13 pm

I see it's possible to overclock the RPi, using settings in the config file (elinux.org/RPi_config.txt).
Now, what if I were to want to actually slow it down? arm_freq, sdram_freq, and maybe gpu_freq?
Where can I find possible values? I ask here because I get the feeling someone here already tinkered around those settings to make it faster, so it may be possible to help me. ;)

Btw, would it be possible to turn off the HDMI if no monitor is attached? I was thinking about the issues during the testing, so (for headless usage) having it completely off should reduce emissions. Or it's of by default if headless?

mmm, reading that post seems you can go down a lot, so it may be possible for me to downclock it at least 50%. Eh, I'd sure like a bit more documentation on the clock(s) speed(s).

btw, funny that the minimal image I'm using doesn't have the config.txt... XD
