I just got a PI 2, downloaded

RASPBIAN Debian Wheezy
Version:February 2015
Release date:2015-02-16

DD'd the image. But then at Boot, it successfully mounts the EXT-4 root FS, and then:

/sbin/init exists but couldn't execute it (error -80)
/etc/init exists but couldn't execute it (error -13)
/bin/sh exists but couldn't execute it (error -80)
PANIC

Any ideas? Is this dist not meant for the Pi 2, Model B 1GB?

Same here. I do get the rainbow gradient screen, but nothing beyond that.

are you sure you properly unmounted your memory card, after the DD command exit?
Linux - depending on the configuration - have a huge write cache, sometimes, it can take 5-10 minute to flush it.
