how to install a custom kernel

Fri Jul 23, 2021 8:53 pm

Hello,
If I want to compile the Linux kernel myself and install it, what is the procedure?
1. What are the steps for installing it? The /boot files look unfamiliar compared to other Linuxes.
2. What special kernel modules are needed just for the Pi?
Thanks.

Here's my kernel config (attached). Everything seems to work except WiFi.

I'm not having any luck following their directions. The drivers never end up getting loaded.

I think what happens was that I forgot the sudo on that line.

To the letter...
As it is apparently board policy to disallow any criticism of anything, as it appears to criticise something is to criticise all the users of that something, I will no longer be commenting in threads which are not directly relevant to my uses of the Pi.
