No Bluetooth adapter found.

Sat Aug 11, 2018 6:50 am

Hi,

I have a big problem, i flashed multiple sd cards and still have the same problem. No Bluetooth adapter found in the top right corner.
What i have done:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get updgrade -y
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y
sudo apt-get install pi-bluetooth

With no result, even after flashing a new sd card and changing power source.

What model of RPi board is involved? Do you expect it to have a built-in BT adaptor, or do you have a usb dongle that should be compatible?

What version of the Raspbian Operating System are you installing on the microSD card?

Sorry, just woke up.

RPI3 B
Build in Bluetooth
RASPBIAN STRETCH WITH DESKTOP
32 gb sd
Original power supply

It worked two days a go, and after some messing around with a case its gone. Even after i remove it from the case.. noting.

My follow-up suggestions were going to be:
Check the board revision and model details, to be sure the board was correctly factory-configured.
And check your power supply arrangements.

But based on your subsequent additional information, if 'original' means an official branded Raspberry Pi Foundation power supply that possibility is dealt with, and if BT has worked in the past the board must have been functional when you received it.

I don't have anything else useful to suggest.

You could try

Code: Select all

rfkill list
this will list Wi-Fi and Bluetooth status

this is from my pi3B+ will both enabled and working as far as I know.

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~ $ rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
1: hci0: Bluetooth
        Soft blocked: no

Ok so there are a couple of checks left to do .

look in config.txt for this line : dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt and remove it if found.

and look in : /etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf and look for

#bt
blacklist btbcm
blacklist hci_uart

if found comment them out with a # at the start of each of the lines.

you will of course have to reboot the pi if you make any of these changes.
