Any Farnell shippings to France ?

Hi folks,

Being very enthousiastic about the RPi, I ordered mine on the release day - about one hour after the starting gun fired...

We are in June now, and no news from Farnell except these automatic emails where they say that early customers should have their RPi before the end of June... and customer assistance say they don't comment Raspberry Pi orders which gives virtually no way of knowing if my order is still in the system.

Did anyone receive a RPi from Farnell in France? How did your odering process go?

It the same for me, my order number : 29/02/2012 08:20
It was in "Remainder" state and I received only an email "that your Raspberry Pi will be delivered by the end of June".
Now in Farnel web site my order is "Under process" (first day in this state).

Wait a little more, I hope it will be delivered by the end of june.

Pour info, j'avais commandé le 29/02/2012 à 7h58 chez Farnell et j'ai reçu un mail m'informant que la commande était expédiée le 31 mai.
J'ai l'ai reçue hier jeudi 07/06, mais je n'ai pas eu le temps de tester.

Donc il n'y a plus qu'à attendre patiemment

Malheureusement, c'est tout a fait pareil pour tout le monde; je crois qu'il y a encore des gens ici en Angleterre qui ont commandé au début Mars - ils sont toujours en attente. Les premières commandes étaient fous - nous avons été étonné de voir combien il y avait. Nous sommes allés dans une situation où nous nous attendions à quelques milliers de commandes pour trouver qu'il y avait près d'un demi millions.

Nous sommes désolé qu'il prend tellement de temps. Tout ce que nous pouvons suggère, c'est la patience. À l'heure actuelle, les fabricants sont en augmentant la capacité. Il ne devrait pas prendre beaucoup plus de temps - merci de votre compréhension!

J'ai reçu le mien, commandé chez RS, il y a environ une semaine. Je me suis incrit pour précommande le jour du lancement, et j'ai eu un code pour commander il y a un mois environ.

J'ai l'impression que Farnell est en retard sur RS pour le moment, ceci dit dans le futur ca sera peut-être le contraire. Je ne pense pas que le pays aie un impact sur la possibilité de / priorité pour commander, à part pour les pays mal couverts par RS/Farnell, ce qui n'est pas le cas de la France.

Le bon côté de la chose, c'est que d'ici que vous receviez le vôtre, les problèmes de drivers, kernel et autres devraient avoir quasi disparu ^^

Looks like everyone is waiting, and the "first ordered, first served" rule is far from being enforced at Farnell's... Oh well, like obarthelemy wrote, it will give the SW stack some time to mature!

De mon côté, le jour J je me suis inscrit sur Farnell et RS

Via RS j'ai reçu mon raspberry hier, pour Farnell toujours prévu fin juin (aucune autre news)

Au final, RS m'a tenu informé plus tard, mais une fois la commande passé, ça a été plus vite que Farnell

De mon coté, commandé le jour de la commercialisation chez Farnell (le 29/02), reçu vendredi dernier.

Farnell ne m'a pas facturé les frais de port (geste commercial du au délai de livraison peut etre...)

A quick update in case anyone is in the same situation:
I gave Farnell a phone call last thursday and it appears my order was "on hold" .
They promised the RPi would arrive any day now.

Another co-worker of mine, having also ordered its RPi there give them a call the same day. They told him its order had been plain cancelled!
Good news though, they sent him a RPi right away to apologize and he received it the next day.

All in all, if you see that your Farnell order seems late, you have to try to get in touch with them... For sure they are not that responsive but your order might well be in some kind of a limbo state!

I'm expecting my Pi from Farnell any second now. I got notice of dispatch late last week. It'll actually be my second Pi because I got a bit confused and ordered one from RS too. (That arrived a couple of weeks ago.)

well, I've received my Raspberry last week 2.5 month approx after my order. I had few emails from them telling me what was going on and at the end I received my "baby". The thing I'm a bit disapointed is there is no documentation with it. even not a diagram with the different ports and saying what is what, even if I knew what they are. thare was just a picking list, that's all.
