Pi as NAS/torrent-box?

Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:52 pm

Hi,

I am new here and exited about this little maschine.
My idea is to connect a external HD and use it as a mediaserver / torrent-client, connected to my TV.
I would put the circuit-board, USB-hub and HD into one box.
Will this basically work? I am not experienced in Linux, only had some glimpses at the command-line on a mac...
How is the heat build-up in a closed box? Will I need a fan?

nice to see, how many different aproaches and uses people have.

best

There are already several topics about that. Closing this thread, but the answer is basically yes, it can be done. Search for Torrent.
