Adafruit PiTFT Touchscreen Display for Raspberry Pi

Hi, I purchased the assembled 320x240 2.8" TFT+Touchscreen for Raspberry Pi. The issue I'm having is that the resolution that appears on touchscreen is not 320x240, but is 592x448. How would I go about changing this to 320x240?
I have an additional, unrelated, question. I am using a colorimeter program from IO Rodeo that runs through an arduino. In order to run it now, I am using a virtual environment and the only way I can open the program is by running the following command on the LXTerminal:
$source colorenv/bin/activatre
$colorimeter-main
I open up my virtual environment, called colorenv, and open the program called colorimeter main.
I am looking for a shortcut, like a desktop icon, that will run this command as soon as you click on that button. Is there a way to do this?
