they're probably in the directory (folder) caller /boot

So

Code: Select all

cd /boot
ls -l
and you should see your files.

This didn't list my files. By the way I figured it out: :)
I copied the files from a windows pc in the sd card , the card was RECOVERY partition which showed in windows. So the command wont show the recovery partion of sd card.

I mounted the recovery partition and got the files.. ;)

I have an SD card that will no longer boot and would like to recover some files. Could you elaborate on how you mount the recovery partition to extract files?? Or recommend another thread?

Thanks,

Dave

Several ways.....
- Find a Linux desktop with a cardreader.
- Obtain one of the many Linux Live boot CD and temporarily boot a Windows PC to Linux.
- Attach a USB card-reader to a working RPi and browse the SD card from there.
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Buster w/ Desktop OS.
