I don't understand why you quoted me for this reply? My reply existed before the thread you have linked did, so it wasn't there when I posted this response.

Directing other viewers of this thread to the new Q&A thread isn't a bad thing but your reply seems to indicate that I should have been responding there instead of here...

Assuming an original stock of 2500 and the item being listed at 08:00, Farnell have sold 922 in just over 4 hours.

(they have definitely sold 883 from 08:52 to 12:11)

(this is kind of off topic for the Q&A thread, hence it's going here).

Also something fishy going on at CPC-Farnell. It was listed a little while ago and I put it in my shopping basket, I then was away from my desk for a short while, and the website is no longer even listing it.....

It's still (again?) there. I just put it in my shopping basket.
I can see it on the right hand side on their main page and then click through to http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/bespoke/besp ... CMP=HP_RPi

That's a shame, I ordered it from Farnell in the end. I had to bump up the order to £20 though.....

My work internet gets very slow at lunchtimes but I think I'll buy one this afternoon, just to prove that the CPC website works...

Almost makes me wish we lost that little disagreement in 1776, and maybe they'd be manufacturing the A+ in Detroit and I wouldn't have to wait weeks for them to wing their way across the pond.

OK, MCM says 'back-order, expected in 1 days.' Placed an order, we'll see.

Trust me, you do not want that to come true :)

Quite apart from other off topic considerations, you'd be paying 20% value added tax on your raspberries.

It showed in stock on the product page for me as well, it wasn't until the 'confirm your order' page that I got the 'backorder, expected in 1 days' notice. Just double-checked my order, and there's no indication of a back-order, just 'expected ship date: Nov. 11' (tomorrow). I can live with that.

Ordered one from RS, it said it was in stock at the time of ordering and I received an order confirmation saying it will be despatched for delivery tomorrow IF its a stock item. It didn't actually say it had been despatched. We'll see...

Seems like sales dropped off in the afternoon and this morning, I doubt that there will be a 2nd rush of orders (unless someone bulk orders for resale or commercial product) so I would expect slower sales from now on.
