New Pi B+case on Kickstarter

Wed Sep 10, 2014 10:15 pm

Hey all. I just launched a new Raspberry Pi B+ case on Kickstarter. It features LEGO® and GoPro® compatibility. Let me know what you think? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/79 ... amera-case

looks pretty good. It's not really for me, but it's feature-rich and resonably priced. good luck with the campaign!
note: I may or may not know what I'm talking about...

I also think that it looks nice and isn't for me.

I'd have been tempted to put another Lego connection on the bottom (a bottom mounting one even) (another pair of 6's maybe?) so that the Pi cases could truly stack, or be more easily incorporated in a Lego project.

I think this is a great idea, but with some oddly un-Lego-like features:
It's held together with screws rather than snapping together, and it doesn't stack. A non-stacking Lego brick!

With Lego-compatible feet and some side ventilation holes it could have been a good solution for the half-dozen Pis I have lying in an untidy heap in my workshop.

If I had two bee pluses and not two bees (with apologies to Bill the Bard) I'd stump up for this KS. I think the Lego idea is excellent.

Tim,

I agree that having it snap together like Legos would be ideal. Underside Lego compatibility would be great too. But molding reliable Lego studs is difficult to do. The case will stack reliably as the underside has location features. You could then secure them together with zip ties.

Just as a small update on this, I got my SmartiPi this week. Very nice. Fits my Pi2 a treat.

It will be on sale on http://www.smarticase.com around March 21st. It will also be on sale at some online retailers in Europe at the end of the month.
