putty not displaying typing

So this has been happening for a while. Not sure the problem.
After running some python scripts (several) and ctrl+c them. Sometimes, not always the following issue occurs where the text i type in putty cannot be seen. It is being typed, but i can't see it. if i go into nano or something I can see my text being typed but in the terminal my typing is not shown. Other text is shown however.

My current workaround is just restarting the terminal.

I don't think it's a script problem per say because it does not always occur and it occurs randomly. after exiting a script

Possibly the terminal settings have got screwed up. Try (blind) typing the 'reset' command and see if that sorts things out again?

thanks reset works now i don't have to keep 'duplicating' and re entering passwords
