First off I would like to say that I am very interested with this sort of computing and very new. I would like to know if it is possible to install pi software onto a mini-ITX? Thanks in advance.

What software? It's just Linux and it works on x86 and can be installed on mini-ITX PC.

Not the distributions for the Pi, no. Wrong CPU type.

But as riklaunim said, you can install the x86 version of Debian Wheezy on a PC with the LXDE desktop and it will look like the Pi desktop (just no Raspberry).

You won't be able to run most of the Raspberry Pi specific software though. Wrong GPU, no GPIOs for a start. But you can use Pythong and everything else.
