Can you use the Pi as network repeater in a big building?

Let say I have hundred of PIs spread out a very large building. can we use the Pi as network repeater to propagate?

If yes, how we can do that?

Hi,

The far best approach (in terms of throughput) is to connect RasPi to Ethernet and configure AP with its WiFi card. (Additionally, PoE can simplify everything...)

I'm wondering what is latest project you have completed with RasPi lately ? ;)

Best wishes, Ivan Zilic.
Running out of GPIO pins and/or need to read analog values?

I am doing feasibility study on using the Pi to control and sensing in a commercial building. Hundred of PIs will be used.

Good. :-)
Control and sensing network requires one approach (and I don't see RasPi as an optimal base for each node), where Pi as network repeater requires another approach.
