Not much relation with this topic, but...
The units will be limited by person.
How much, I don't know. But you will not get 1,500 units in this first batch.

You'll be able to do that next year some time, but we need a chance to ramp up production first.

Just a reminder for anyone who stumbles onto this oddly resurrected thread and doesn't bother to read the first page of posts :P

XBMC is not currently available for the r-pi. There is some hope that they'll be able do something with the r-pi (Back in September Liz mentioned they had an alpha board to play with), but at this time we have not heard anything. This thread was mostly just discussing some theory behind using XBMC with the r-pi. So don't get the wrong idea thinking this thread is about the reality of using xbmc on the r-pi, it's about the possibility ;)

Theres been a few cryptic hints dropped over at the XBMC forums in the last few days from one of the devs.
So it could yet happen.

How is going this project?

Did anyone say something more about the possibility to port XBMC to raspberry-pi?

XBMC developers have posted this teaser video today

and in there comments posted on this news post

Some more information is posted in XBMC forum

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthre.....p?t=113824

XBMC developer Davilla (Scott Davilla of the XBMC for iOS port fame) writes "Keep in mind that a maxed cpu while in GUI is not necessarily that bad on an embedded platform. The CPU drops to almost nothing while playing video as that is all handled via hardware video decoders."
